Growing up in the Chicagoland area, music was always played in our house.  I remember my grandparents listening to mexican music, aunts and uncles liking rock-n-roll and my mother listening to jazz.  At family gatherings, I would sit at the piano watching my aunts play.  At age five, it seemed natural for my mother to sign me up for piano lessons.  This was the beginning of my love and respect for music.  I was enrolled in a classical music program taught by a local award winning instructor and studied jazz piano with Chicago drummer, Dennis Natarelli.  Developing an interest in jazz, I played both piano and trumpet in the high school band.  I then met and studied skill/performance with Jim Skafish.  Known as the “Godfather of Chicago Punk,” Jim has credited performances with Joan Jett, The Police and U2.  I played with a popular cover band throughout the Midwest, Disney World and Washington DC.  After attending a Pink Floyd concert, I was amazed that the music consisted of all the styles that I studied as a kid.  I remember my uncle introducing me to the album Dark Side of the Moon.  From that point on, I began listening to all Pink Floyd music.  I’m truly blessed to have studied and performed with many different musicians throughout my music career.  With deep respect and appreciation to Pink Floyd, I add my own attitude, style and personal flair to Echoes of Pompeii.  My musical influences include Richard Wright, Oscar Peterson, Chick Corea and Keith Emerson.
